Kasabian were virtually unheard of at the start of last year, but by Hogmanay 2004 the Leicester lads were being hailed as one of the bands of the year. Citing The Rolling Stones, The Happy Mondays and Primal Scream among their chaotic rock influences, the band soon outgrew cult status and broke through into the mainstream. Singles include Reason Is Treason, Club Foot, LSF, Processed Beats, and Cutt Off, which all appear on their self-titled debut album, Kasabian (September 2004). Oh, and if anyone asks, they were named after Charles Manson's getaway driver. Weird.
