Is there anyone left who doesn't know Maroon 5's track This Love back to front? While the single may have brought Maroon 5 to an all-encompassing audience, it's not where the band started. Originally named Kara's Fowers, the founding foursome (Adam Levine, vocals/ guitar; Jesse Carmichael, keyboards; Mickey Madden, bass; and Ryan Dusnick, drums) added a second guitarist, James Valentine, and became Maroon 5. The band's debut J Records album, Songs About Jane was released in the UK in December 2003 and delivered one immediate hit Harder To Breathe in Jan 2004 before This Love kicked in the following April. Promotion for two more singles, She Will Be Loved (Aug 2004) and Sunday Morning (Dec 2004), as well as a world tour, completed the band's hectic year.
