Muse - Matt Bellamy (vocals, piano), Dom Howard (drums) and Chris Wolstenholme (bass) - hail from Teignmouth in Devon. Formed while the lads were at school, in 1997 they brought out two EPs, Muse and Muscle Museum. They were promptly signed to Madonna's Maverick records and released their debut album Showbiz in 1999. Origin Of Symmetry came next in 2001, and Absolution (September 2003) provided the singles Time Is Running Out, Hysteria and Butterflies And Hurricanes. A rarities album, Hullabaloo was released in July 2004, and American success beckons. Thank goodness they changed their name from Gothic Plague.
