Outkast

Outkast didn't become an A-list band in the UK the until the 2000 release of their single Ms Jackson, taken from their Stankonia album. They have, however, been famous in the US for far longer. Formed in Atlanta in1992, the pop-rap duo comprises Andre Benjamin - aka Andre 3000 - and Antoine Patton, also known as Big Boi. Their debut album, the strangely titled Sothernplayalisticadillacmuzik, topped the Billboard rap chart, while the follow-up ATLiens garnered mainstream approval and 1998's Aquemini made US No.2. Outkast's most recent LP, the double-disked Speakerboxxx/ The Love Below provided the huge hits Hey Ya and The Way You Move with GhettoMusick slated for 2005. Andre 3000 has recently worked with Gwen Stefani and Kelis.
